Our core business is the production of food for domestic animals (dogs, cats and ferrets), that is, the commerce of the raw materials that allow the production of food for dogs, cats and ferrets.

Cats and ferrets are obligate carnivores, therefore, in their diet, they need to satisfy a primary need for meat and fish.

On the other hand, the dog is an opportunistic carnivore, since – unlike the wolf – it has developed enzymes capable of assimilating starch. However, significant quantities of animal protein (meat and derivatives) are still considered necessary in order to guarantee normal health conditions.

Without the activity of our sector, it would be impossible to maintain a consistent presence of pets in the world, whose relationship with humans is to be considered of fundamental importance for us, due to the significant benefits in terms of well-being – psychic and, consequently, physical – which derive from it for all the species involved, as well as in order to stimulate an increasingly widespread empathetic relationship between man and nature.

Specifically, we deal with supplying the best raw materials to the industries involved in the production of Pet food, i.e. meals, fats and by-products.

It should be noted that the previously mentioned by-products are not subject to slaughtering and, consequently, they DO NOT regulate their demand, which is regulated by the demand for products for human consumption. Basically, no one produces expressly for pet food, given the low or zero overall value, if not sometimes even negative.

Some by-products, particularly in less structured countries and production realities, would be destroyed and sent for disposal, thus ending their production cycle as waste, sometimes even highly polluting. Our activity therefore plays an important ecological role, transforming into life – i.e. into animal and human well-being – something that otherwise would have ended up wasted and would have had a negative environmental impact.

During the year 2022, with the expansion of the SMA business, we started the commerce of organic products.
